Our client had hundreds of licensing and other gaming industry agreements with inconsistent contractual terms. The contracts were decentralized and lacked codification, making management of their portfolio of agreements challenging.
Approach
Barnes & Thornburg extracted and summarized data including attorney refinement in Excel format to be imported into an existing SharePoint deal database so that the solution was incorporated into the client’s workflows. We utilized an AI-assisted review for summarizing and extracting key terms from historical entertainment license and option agreements.
Impact
The client now has a single source of truth to see consistent patterns and language across all historical agreements so they can build out standards around rights and production details for future deals, saving time and avoiding risk. The extracted data informed the development of standardized model language for future agreements.
